These Students Need Your Support!

BULLETIN: In a strife-torn Kenya, education for nomadic children is more important than ever. Schools build understanding by bringing together children of many tribal backgrounds. Please donate.

Education is the seed of opportunity, particularly for desperately poor, nomadic Kenyan children. In Kenya, secondary school is not free. The Nomadic Kenyan Children’s Educational Fund (NKCEF) offers hope to Kenyan students by awarding high school scholarships to needy nomadic children.

  • Most families from nomadic tribes in Kenya cannot afford to send their children to high school, as school fees are more than their annual income. For only $500, you can educate and feed a poor child in a Kenyan school for an entire year.
  • Girls are often left out of educational opportunities.
  • Because families must move to find grass and water for animals, boarding school is the best alternative for many of these students.

NKCEF scholarship funding changes the lives of bright, motivated nomadic Kenyan boys and girls. High school education helps these students improve the lives of their families and communities -- whether they continue on to a university, go to vocational school, or return to work in the village. Their education can break the cycle of poverty by providing the family with a knowledgeable advocate in the marketplace and income that is not dependent on rain and the natural growth of food for livestock.

Please help us educate promising students among the nomadic people of Kenya:
