NKCEF has Merged with KEF
We are very pleased to announce the merger of the
Nomadic Kenyan Children's Educational Fund (NKCEF)
with the Kenya Education Fund (KEF). The merged
entity is known as the Kenya Education Fund (KEF)
and will continue to focus on the education of bright,
motivated and needy female and nomadic students, as
well as on similar students who are not from pastoralist
groups. By joining efforts we are able to better meet
the needs of students for whom education offers the
best hope for themselves, their families and their
communities.
Through the leadership of our Executive Director,
Bradley Broder, we now have the support of KEF staff
in Nairobi. As a result, we can now offer individuals who
wish to change the lives of Kenyan young people through
education several important new tools:
Donor sponsorship of individual students:
The new organization will offer donors the ability
to sponsor individual students, as well as make
general donations to support all aspects of the
scholarship program.
Broader support for the students in our
program:
Students have access to mentoring
workshops that KEF holds for students in
Kenya. These seminars enhance the students'
study skills for secondary school (with sessions
such as time management) and preparation
for their lives after graduation (with career
information and education on HIV/AIDSprevention.)
KEF's extensive network of regional
volunteers enables us to check on each
student, assess their needs and progress,
and provide them with increased attention and
responsiveness.
We need your support to serve the hundreds of students
we reach each year! Please follow this link
and visit our new website.
Thank you!
